A lot of people feel anxious before an important interview. They may worry if they will make a good impression.
There are certain things you can do to leave a good impression on a job interview:
- Research, the company. Make sure that you understand how the business works.
- Try to find some questions that the interviewer may ask you.
- Wear an appropriate outfit
- Arrive early to the interview. You don’t want to leave the impression that you are not correct.
- Try to think how you can be valuable to your organization.
Here is the technique:
This simple technique will help you feel more confident before an important job interview.
You can also use when you have a date with someone you love and want to leave a good impression.
William Moulton Marston who was a famous writer and psychologist recommended what he called “rehearsal practice.”
If you have an important interview coming up, his advice was:
Plan for the meeting in advance, go over in your mind, all the various questions that you are likely to be asked.
Think about all the answers. The answers you are going to give.
Then “rehearse” the interview in your mind over and over. Imagine yourself answering the questions with confidence and showing that you are the best candidate for that job.
Even If none of the questions you rehearsed come up, the rehearsal practice will still work wonders. It gives you confidence.
It will help you act spontaneously to whatever situation you find yourself in because you have practised reacting instinctively.
Try to be as calm as possible. If you don’t get the job, don’t be discouraged, you will find other alternatives, maybe better than this one.
